The CAK door goes ajar
From this date, only new registrants with AOW or a disability benefit are expected to be admitted to the healthcare route for pensioners in the EU. Early retirement falls outside it — whoever is already a customer keeps their rights.
1 January 2027
Canada decides on its purchase ban
The ban on buying a home for anyone who isn't a citizen or permanent resident expires on this date — without an announced extension. Until then, a work permit with enough remaining validity is the narrow opening.
30 June 2029
Australia keeps existing homes closed
Anyone without permanent status may not buy an existing home until this date — the ban was extended in the Australian budget. So rent your first year is literally in the law.

I ran into it myself
We had serious plans to emigrate to Australia. What we found online was mostly contradictory: one says you start at A, another at B, and underneath always the question whether we were overlooking something. A specialised agency wanted to take it over from us — for well over nine thousand euros. That's where we parked the plans.
Six months later the itch was still there, just different — and we ran into exactly the same thing. That's when I started building it: everything we had to figure out, ordered properly once, so the next person doesn't have to do it again.

What Vertrekklaar is not
Better clear now than disappointed later. These are the limits, and they're drawn on purpose.
- No migration advice
- We organise and inform; we don't assess your application and give no judgement on your chances. For the substantive assessment we refer you to a registered migration adviser — for Australia a MARA agent.
- No tax advice
- We do name what's at play: the M form, the 183-day rule, your pension. The working-out is personal and you have that done by a tax specialist who knows both countries.
- We don't file anything for you
- The official application you do yourself, via the portal of the government in question. It's not allowed any other way. What we do is make sure you're there complete and on time.
- No guarantee on the outcome
- Whether your visa is granted is decided by the government of your destination country. We reduce the chance of it going wrong through something you could have prevented — no more, but that's exactly where most journeys strand.

That depends on how much journey there is to watch, and that really differs per destination. € 199 for Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, Italy, Austria, Germany, Estonia, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland — free movement within the EU or the EEA, so no visa journey. € 299 for Curaçao, Aruba, Bonaire and Switzerland: no visa, but a settlement journey. € 399 for England, the United States, Dubai, Japan and China, where a real visa application is involved. Australia, Canada and New Zealand are the heaviest journey — points system, assessment of your occupation and a language test — and stand now at € 399 instead of € 499: an introductory price that stays until we have twenty customers and their reviews. Always the complete journey of one destination, paid once: no subscription, no hourly rate and no hidden costs. You can pay with iDEAL or credit card, and after that everything is ready for you right away.
Is this migration advice?
No, and that's a deliberate choice. Only registered advisers may give migration advice, and rightly so — it's about your future. Vertrekklaar organises and informs: it tells you which steps there are, in which order they belong and when they're due. What it doesn't do is judge whether your application stands a chance.
