Pricing
What does a step-by-step plan cost?
You pay once per destination, with no subscription. The price depends on how much there is to keep an eye on for you. Moving within the EU is a different thing from applying for a visa with a points system.
The more there is to watch, the higher the tier
Every destination sits on one of four tiers. Which tier depends on the work the journey takes. A residence permit you get almost automatically is a different puzzle from a visa you need points for.
€ 199
one-off
No visa needed
Within the EU and the EEA (the EU plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) you are free to go and live. So there is no residence application. What is left is the Dutch side and your registration in the new country.
The countries on this tier
€ 299
one-off
No visa, but a settlement journey
You move within the Kingdom, or to a country where a treaty arranges your residence. You don't apply for a visa. You do deal with a declaration, a permit or a registration, each with deadlines of its own.
The countries on this tier
€ 399
one-off
Visa or permit needed
A real visa journey. You file an application, your documents have to stay valid, and after arrival you have to renew on time.
The countries on this tier
€ 499
one-off
Points system, skills assessment and language test
The heaviest journey. Before the application you score points, have your occupation assessed and sit a language test. And all of it in the right order.
The countries on this tier
Pay with iDEAL or card. You receive a VAT invoice by email.
The price for your country is also on the country page, above the buy button.
This is in every step-by-step plan
You pay once for your destination. No subscription follows, and there's nothing to buy on top. This is then ready for you:
The plan
A step-by-step plan for your situation
Who's coming, what's coming, where you want to go: the plan contains only the steps that apply to you, in the order that's right.
Sources and counters under every step
Every step lists the official sources it rests on, and the links to the office where you need to be. One click and you're checking a source or at the office.
The cost calculator on your choices
The same calculation model as on this site, but on your real situation: children, household contents, pet, car.

The watching
All running deadlines in one place
The clock bar shows every running deadline: what's ticking, how long is left, and what then has to happen.
A document vault that watches dates
Your documents are stored safely in one place, with the date until which each one is valid. If something is about to expire while you're waiting for something else, you get a warning in advance.
An alert when it's needed
You get an email when something is asked of you, when something in your plan changes, and at a few moments along the way. You don't get a newsletter.
And after arrival: the upkeep calendar
Your passport, your driving licence, the tax return before 1 May, your DigiD: what keeps coming back from the Netherlands afterwards, on your dates and in your own calendar. If a rule changes, you get an email if you tick the box.

The person
A person reading along
Stuck at a step, or is your situation slightly different? Ask your question right there and you get a personal answer within two working days. Or schedule fifteen minutes on the phone with me: usually within a day, what we discussed is in your plan.
Your partner watches and ticks along
Your partner gets a login of their own on the same plan. That way you can both tick off steps.
All your cancellation letters in one go
Health insurance, rent, employer, school, bank, pension fund: enter your details once and every letter is ready, with the date by which it has to go out.

For our move to Australia, an emigration agency asked us over € 9,000. This plan costs € 499 there, once.
What's also sold on its own
Four parts are also sold separately, for anyone who doesn't need a step-by-step plan. Three of them are included in every plan.
- The letters packIncluded in every plan
- Every cancellation and notification letter for leaving the Netherlands, filled in with your details. On its own € 49.
- The return planSeparate journey
- For anyone moving back to the Netherlands. Returning is a different journey from leaving, so it isn't part of the step-by-step plan. On its own € 79.
- The maintenance calendarIncluded in every plan
- What comes back every year when you live abroad, set to your dates. On its own € 39.
- The M form guideIncluded in every plan
- The tax return on the year you left, explained part by part, with what to gather. On its own € 45.
Separately € 133 together. Every step-by-step plan includes them.
What an agency charges, and what this costs
An emigration agency takes the work off your hands. For some people that's the right choice. But most of what you pay goes to work that comes down to organising.
- An emigration agency
- Over € 9,000
- that is what a specialised agency asked us for the move to Australia. Afterwards you stay dependent on the agency. The About page tells how this began.
- A Vertrekklaar step-by-step plan
- € 199 – € 499
- one-off, per destination. You get the overview an agency keeps in its head, written out step by step. You file the applications yourself.
What people ask about the price
What does it cost?
€ 199 when no visa is needed (EU and EEA). € 299 without a visa but with a settlement journey (the Caribbean part of the Kingdom, Switzerland). € 399 when a visa or permit is needed. € 499 with a points system, skills assessment and language test (Australia, Canada, New Zealand). You pay once per destination, with iDEAL or card.
Why four prices?
Because the work differs. A move to Spain is mostly about the Dutch side and a registration. Emigrating to Australia starts months earlier, with points, a skills assessment and a language test. Each of those steps has its own deadline. With one price for both, someone moving to Spain would pay for watching they don't need.
Is it a subscription?
No. You pay once and keep access for your whole journey. If the rules change, your plan changes with them; you don't pay again for that.
What if I switch countries?
A plan is for one destination. If it turns out to be another country after all, email info@vertrekklaar.nl. Then I'll look with you at what's best. There's no button for it right now; I sort it out by hand.
Can I give it as a gift?
Yes, with a gift code. Removal companies and other partners hand them out with a signed order; the recipient redeems the code at vertrekklaar.nl/cadeau and picks their country. If you'd like to give someone a plan yourself, email info@vertrekklaar.nl.
Can I buy as a business?
Yes. Every purchase comes with a VAT invoice by email, and our VAT identification number is at the bottom of every page. If you want several plans for your staff or clients, email us; that works through gift codes.
Every step on one list, free
Not ready to start yet? Choose your destination and you get the departure checklist: every step in order, to print and tick off. With it, five mails in a week and a half about the pitfalls and the real costs. If the rules for your country change, you'll hear about it. After that we ask once where your plans stand, and now and then we send one thing that fits your moment. No newsletter, and you can switch it off at any time.
Pick your country and begin
The checkout asks for your destination and works out the tier itself. Still unsure? Look inside an open step-by-step plan first, the part you can read for free. There you'll see exactly what you're buying.
